I hate surprises

“Timmy, where are we going?”, Abby grouched curiously. “I told you it is a surprise, okay? I’m not going to give in.”, Tim sighed. “But you know that I hate surprises!” “No, you don’t, you just hate not to know what the surprise is, because you’re way to nosey. If you don’t know there’ll be a surprise in advance you don’t hate them, but as soon as you get to know there’ll be one… Basically one could say you can’t wait for it, you’re unable to appreciate it while it’s not yet there. So yes, you do like surprises.”, he smiled. “But that’s not fair, Timmy… Then why do you tell me about it in the first place, huh?”, she complained. “Well,”, Tim laughed, “let me think… Hmmm…? Oh, right, probably because you firstly wouldn’t come with me otherwise and secondly because you had to dress up a little? I mean, you wouldn’t have dressed up if I hadn’t told you I had a surprise for you, would you?” “Uuuum…”, Abby pretended to think, “no.” “See?”, her boyfriend smiled triumphantly.
“Well, but if I had to dress up like this I finally want to know where we’re going.”, she demanded. “Or?”, McGee grinned. “Or what?”, was her puzzled response. “You want to know where we’re going or…?”, he grinned, knowing exactly there was no or. “Or I’ll… I’ll… I’ll not say anything to you for the rest of our journey!” “Fine.”, Tim laughed again. “But you do realize that’s more of a relief than a threat, right?” “Oooah!”, she spat indignantly and punched him lightly. “What?”, he grinned, “You’ve been asking me about a thousand times now where we are going, didn’t you expect I’d be relieved if you stopped?” “You could have at least pretended.”, she griped when he stopped the car in front of the theatre. “Why should I?”, he wondered and turned of the engine. Abby got startled and turned around quickly to see where they were.
“Aww, the theatre, Timmy!”, she squealed, “That was all part of your plan, wasn’t it? You tried to distract me so I didn’t notice where you where driving to, right? Oh Timmy… you’re so clever! So what are we going to see?” Her gaze sifted through the room when they entered the theatre, searching for any sign of the play they’d be watching. “Didn’t I say it was a surprise?”, Tim teased. “Yes, you did, about a million times, Timmy, but- aawww!”, she had spotted a poster advertising today’s show and squealed happily with excitement: “West Side Story! I love you, Timmy!”
